Chris & Camille

I coached Chris on how to approach Camille in a way she’d feel comfortable. I told him about the little things she liked, where she liked to go, the kinds of conversations she enjoyed, and activities they could do together to help ease the nerves and build a natural connection. Meanwhile, I talked to Camille, putting in a good word and encouraging her to give him a chance, because I knew how kind and thoughtful Chris truly was.

Years later, Chris proposed to Camille. I was honored to stand by her side as one of her bridesmaids, witnessing not just a beautiful wedding, but the full-circle moment of the first match I ever helped create. It was surreal and deeply satisfying to see two people I cared about fall in love, and to have been part of that journey from the very beginning.

When I first thought about setting up my good friend Camille with Chris, my Digital Manager at an eCommerce company. I wasn’t sure it would work. They were both introverted and reserved. But I couldn’t shake the feeling they’d be a great match. They shared so many things: a love for the outdoors, mellow weekend adventures, and a similar taste in music. Plus, they were both just genuinely good people.

So, I decided to play Cupid, but with strategy.

That experience sparked something in me. I realized how much I loved connecting people, seeing the potential between two hopeful individuals, and helping it grow into something real. It’s become one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done.
